Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, starting with Alexis—a Rottweiler and my very first rescue. She sparked my passion for canines, and in 2007, I began breeding, handling, and showing Rottweilers and American Staffordshire Terriers. With a kennel of imports (sometimes 15 dogs a day!) and multiple litters per year, I gained hands-on experience in training, deepened my understanding of canine behavior, and developed a soft spot for misunderstood breeds.
Along the way, I earned a degree in Agriculture, became certified in pet CPR, and spent four years working as a vet tech in Virginia—while also running my own grooming and training business on the side. My love for dogs, and for helping people understand them, only grew.
In 2020, everything changed. That year, I was the victim of a violent crime. In the aftermath, I found myself struggling with symptoms of PTSD. That’s when I welcomed a Belgian Malinois service dog into my life. I’d always known the joy a dog could bring—but through his companionship and service, I experienced firsthand the depth of healing they can provide. He helped me shift from victim to survivor.
That experience reignited my passion for helping both people and their dogs. Today, in addition to working with clients and their pets, we also train for Search and Rescue—to be of service to the community at large.
